Historical Walking Tour & Santa Teresa |
Experience Santa Teresa and take the historical tram
The neighbourhood Santa Teresa has its name from a convent, built in the mid-18th century. After the Carioca river was directed through this area and over the aqueduct in the city center, this part of Rio attracted wealthy citizens. Today, the artist quarter with its old tram (currently the old tram is unfortunately out of order!), its mansions, ateliers, restaurants and breathtaking views is known as "Montmartre of Brazil".
The Santa Teresa tour can only be booked in combination with our historical walking tour. You will start with a visit of the famous staircase, build by the Chilean artist Seleron. Afterwards your tour guide will take you to the picturesque district.
This tour in a small group takes place from Monday to Friday in the morning or afternoon, as well as Saturdays in the morning!
On Sundays and public holidays, the tour can be organized only as a private tour! Please check the price chart for our private tours!
