Lisa Rio Tours, based in Rio de Janeiro, is a specialist in cultural and private tours, which can be planned individually for our customers. Neverheless conventional bus tours through Rio de Janeiro can be find in our program as well. One of our highlights are our "Historical Walking Tours" in small groups. Our main focus is providing an exceptional travel experience for our customers and a particularly close contact to land, people, culture and history.Our services range from traditional sightseeing tours such as visits to the Corcovado and Sugar Loaf to city walking tours through the historical center or Favela tours. Our experienced and competent guides will show you the "Cidade Maravilhosa" (marvelous city) from different angles and love to share the fascinating history of Rio de Janeiro with you.The tours you find on our website are merely suggestions. You can decide what you want to see on your tour. We will tailor a tour individually for you according to your wishes. The duration of our private tours are 4, 6 or 8 hours. Generally there is a possibility to extend a tour spontaneously. As an alternative to our private tours in many cases tours in larger groups can be booked as well. Please check the notes at the end of each tour description. Further details can also be found in our terms of business on this page. If you are a group of two or three, our private tours could be already a better value for your money. A further advantage, our private tours are flexible and you can see more in less time.
Lisa Schnittger
Lisa Schnittger spent her youth in Rio de Janeiro. During that time already she acquired her license as a tour guide. Back in Germany, she studied social education, but Brazil remained one of her main interests. Her wide social and human as well as her practical knowledge in tourism and as a travel guide allow her to respond in a creative, effective and specific way to customer requests.
Jessica Jung
Jessica was born in the Stuttgart area in southern Germany. After her school exams, she worked as a voluntary for a year in Nova Friburgo near Rio de Janeiro. She fell in love with the country and its people and decided to stay in Brazil and study biology there. She holds a Masters’ Degree in marine biology and coastal management. Shortly after taking up her Masters’ studies, she got interested in tourism and she obtained her licence as a tourist guide. Since 2017, she has been working as a tourist guide and she enjoys it very much. Her deepest wish concerning her tour members is to awaken an understanding of the nature, culture and people of Brazil in them.
Terms and Conditions
1. Finalisation of the travel contract
The travel contract between Lisa Rio Tours and the traveler is concluded as soon as the traveler made a deposit of up to 50 percent of the price ( depending on the agreement with the traveler) and send a receipt about the payment. Upon receipt Lisa Rio Tours will send a confirmation to the traveler.
1.1. If the trip is booked short-term, the contract will be realized also without deposit by e-mail.
2. Services provided
In case Lisa Rio Tours acts as an intermediary on behalf of a tour operator, a contractual liability is excluded. Lisa Rio Tours as an intermediary ist liable only for the arrangement with the other tour operator, but not for the arranged services itself.
3. Refund of services
Prepayments already made will not be refunded in case the costumer is unable to make the trip or changes his mind.
4. Prices changes
Lisa Rio Tours may require price increases of up to 5 % of the total price four months after the conclusion of the contract, if there is a detactable increase of transportation costs, the fees for certain services or an increase of the exchange rates. Based on those circumstances, price increases are permitted only if the increase for transport costs, duties and exchange rates have a concrete impact on the travel price.
5. Right to withdraw
If after the conclusion of the contract the price increases by more than 5 % of the total price the traveler is permitted to cancel free of charge.
6. Change in services
Changes and deviations of individual travel services, which become necessary after the conclusion of the contract, shall be permitted. However, they are only permitted if the changes or modifications are not substantial and do not affect the overall design of the booked tour.
6.1. The organizer has to declare an allowable amendment to an essential travel service immediately after the knowledge of the reason.
7. Minimum number of participants
If the travel confirmation indicates a certain minimum number of participants, the organizer may declare that the minimum number is not reached and the journey will not be performed.
